Thane Police built the आधारवड ठाणे पोलीस App as a free public service app. This service is provided by Thane Police at no cost and is intended for use as is.
The app may request personal details such as name, phone number, emergency contacts, and location. This information is used solely to provide emergency help and connect with police or family members. Data is never sold or shared with third parties.
Your location is used only when you trigger an SOS and track me, to help police respond quickly. Location data is not stored permanently.
What we collect: GPS location coordinates (latitude and longitude)
When: Continuously, even when the app is closed or running in the background, but only during an active "Track Me" session that the user explicitly starts.
Why we collect it:
- To share your live location with your emergency contacts during the tracking session
- To monitor your route and alert contacts if you do not reach your destination on time
- To improve safety for citizens and police officers during patrol and emergency situations
How it is used: Location data is transmitted in real-time to your chosen emergency contacts only. It is not used for advertising or analytics.
Sharing: Your location is not shared with any third parties. It is only sent to the emergency contacts you have personally added in the app.
Retention: Location data is deleted immediately when the tracking session ends. We do not store historical location data on our servers.
All personal data is encrypted and protected. Only authorized police staff can access the information when needed for your safety.
This app is intended for senior citizens. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
We may update this policy from time to time. Please review it periodically.
